I'm taking the Pet Blogger Challenge

Pet Blogger Challenge

1. When did you begin your blog?

January 2009

2. What was your original purpose for starting a blog?
To provide pet owners in my local country area in NSW, Australia Free access to updated, professional, positive based information to allow them to better care for pets. I also love writing and love animals so the mix of the two made a great deal of sense

3. Is your current purpose the same?

Yes

If not, what’s different?

If so, how do you feel you’ve met your goals?

I love blogging and really enjoy the challenge of finding something interesting to write about. The local paper picks up an occassional article and prints it as well

4. Do you blog on a schedule or as the spirit moves you?

No schedule, although it has become part of my weekend actitivies.

If the former, how often — and what techniques do you use to stick to it?

If the latter, do you worry about… well, whatever you might worry about (e.g. losing traffic, losing momentum)?

It is always a case of so much that could be said and finding the time to sit and write it but once I start the fingers start flying and its hard to stop, or more importantly to make is less like war and peace in length.

5. Are you generating income from your blog?

No

If so, how (e.g. sponsor ads, affiliate relationships, spokesperson opportunities)?

If not currently, do you hope to in the future — and how?

Don't we all want to do that lol?

6. What do you like most about blogging in general and your blog in particular (bragging is good!)?

I like the fact that blogging is free access and helps spread good information to people who love caring for their pets. I do like the intellectual challenge of saying something worth saying. At times I do push the envelop and write what I hope are thought provoking articles, eg this one on euthanasia in pets and humans.

7. What do you like least?

Trying to work out how to embed video, mp3  and photo files and my slow internet

8. How do you see your blog changing/growing in 2011?

I see it having more posts and those posts being more multi media orientated as I do more work on Youtube. I also see it integrating more with my website, facebook page and twitter accounts. I also hope to see more comments.
